Would anyone actually be interested to have this mod in 32x32?
I'm doing it mostly for myself because i really want to do a nice looking dinosaur park. I've never done anything like this before so if anyone has tips or tricks to make this easier/faster do let me know!
DownloadIt's not 100% done and it could take a while before i do more of it.
They look pretty good
I like the slight shading on the mechinacal block (don't know what they are), it lets the texture look like real metal, wielded together.
It looks like you are making these textures in a way to fit with the faithful pack, so best thing to do would to make them fit really well, and since your existing textures already look good, I think there is not a lot to say.
I personally would add some darker shading under everything, like the ore, the buttons etc.
But I don't know who the shading is done in the faithful pack, so my opinion is kinda not important.
Anyway, nice textures
Thank you it means a lot! I never thought this would be so time consuming!
And yes i am trying to make it fit the faithful pack! But when i found this dinosaur mod I thought Oh my gosh i need this in 32x32!! I couldn't find any and I was also very sad to see they stopped working on it! Or at least it seems so.
What?? How do you make a texture pack for a texture pack?
Any pack can be expanded on by adding more mod support. With resource pack stacking we can how have multiple files for a single pack, each one adding something new and different.
I thank you because I've been waiting for something like this for a long long time since last year. I saw someone making a sphax version of a texture pack but it looks nowhere near as close to finished as yours. I hope the process of making the dinosaur skins are not difficult to produce. I also wish to ask when more items and blocks and the what not are added will you make textures for those as well or just what is now available?

Oh ohm.. as for the dinosaur skin I honestly wasn't planning to redo them mainly because I've got no idea which part is supposed to be which in the .PNG image. :x But the Fossil Archeology page has a link where someone re-did dinosaur skins. I'm personally going to use these unless there's a way to "color" them as you see them in 3D.
I did do some of the blocks that aren't available unless you're in creative mode. At least I don't think they are available otherwise! As for the time machine i might work on it when the other items are finished. I still need to do the fern blocks and a lot of the scarab weapons. Oh yeah and the gear too!
Thought I'd leave a Thank You here, too. It makes the Fossils mod fit so nicely into the 32x32 texture packs that I enjoy playing with (mostly Faithful 32x32 and Pseudocraft 32x32). And the textures are really well done! Not amateurish at all ^^ Looking forward to seeing more work by you guys.
woolies how do you make textures hd? i would like an answer and would greatly appreciate it
I open the images with photoshop ( I guess any program meant for drawing or designing will do ) and I make the image size 32x32 in the settings. It doubles the image size and from there I redraw over it and recolor. As for the REAL HD mod packs out there I guess the resolution is even bigger then they can put loads of details!

Yay!
I would like to ask how to do your details I have no idea how you do it. How do you do different shades and make them look good?

For the blocks I really just tried my best redrawing on top of the available details. The skull one i gotta redo sometime for sure. Others like the feeder where there's different blocks depending if it's empty, has grass, meat or both in it I made different layers for instead of redrawing everything each time. I had one layer for the meat, one for grass and for the top part i had one for the glass as well. It's a bit hard to explain you might wanna look at tutorials for layers themselves but they do help with you need to repeat the same details onto many blocks.
The items i find a lot easier to work with since they're just one flat image.
The colors well.. I choose from anything here
This is how i do the items:
First i set up my stuff like this. I open the original image in photoshop and change the size in the settings to 32x32. You set the image mode to indexed color to avoid the image becoming blurry. Once I change the size I put it back to image mode RGB color.
Using the pencil tool I define the lines without worrying about the colors inside. And i use the eyedropper tool to copy the colors.
It's quick and really not annoying if you take the time to set certain tools to your keyboard.
I remove all the colors.
Fill in with simple colors. Then from there I use what I like best which happens to be the paintbrush tool with options on multiply and around 20% opacity. There are other options there to make things a lighter color. Whatever program you use doesn't matter as long as you can save it as .png!
And that's the result for that. Oh btw if you want to avoid coloring out of the lines use the magic wand tool it'll select the color you click on only. If it doesn't play around with the options of that tool until you get it figured out.
Oh and one last thing that I actually need to do to be able to save as .png again. In the same box where the layers are there is a Channels tab. In there a thing is called Alpha 1. I need to delete that then select the white background with the magic wand and hit delete. It end up looking like this.
I'm known to be bad at explaining things so if any of this didn't make sense sorry!
Hope it helped tho.
I had redone these already actually I think I just uploaded the wrong images into the jar file at the time.
Thanks for offering the help but i think I want to do this on my own. I'm in no hurry and i like to take my time not to get fed up.
Maybe you can find a project for yourself! I'm sure there's some mods out there you really like that needs some texture lovin'! =)
