Hi. So as i was looking for reviews of server i found this and i have few questions.
I need server "Minecraft vanilla" for around 40-50 players. I will user around 40 plugins. So how much ram is recommended for that kinda server to run smooth without lag? Also what is speed of servers? Like 1Gb or less? (since i guess LAG is caused most time because of hard drive and slow internet). I used 2 other hosts for my server before and i always got lag even that i got 8GB ram, so before i buy something i need to know that this hosting is good.
Thanks for reply.
Hello,
I honestly donot know about the requirements for running that particular set up... BUT...
I can say that i have been with Bisect Hosting for a few months now and have a several servers and set ups through them... They are a great company and everything i needed help with at the beginning they were more than friendly about helping with... very reasonable prices and very knowledgeable support staff...
I recently brought my server to this host after almost 2 years at McProHosting. This host offers amazing deals, and after only 2 weeks here, I can already say that I am satisfied with my decision to switch to this host. My server runs smoothly and quickly, with almost no lag! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a decent host offering the most bang for your buck
This is completely false, we never take that long to respond to tickets. Maybe you were just missing the email notification? I can guarantee that if you check the actual ticket in your billing area and look at the time stamps of our replies, they would not be far apart like you say they were. Yes, on rare occasions you will wait an hour or two when we are slammed, but never a day, or 3 days like you said.
If you can stop by our site and ask to speak to Max in our live chat or email me at [email protected] I would love to chat with you to get this sorted out
Thank you.
I sent out an e-mail to Max and got nothing, i asked for Max in livechat and got told they did not do that. To be fair i think i actually spoke to Max about a technical issue i am having, and didnt bring it up. I did find out that my problems with message delivery not going, if you dont see the "sent" screen with a ticket ID number it means it did not go do it again. Its hard to tell if this is known because max here specifically misrepresented what i said, which is something im finding common when dealing with their staff. Note that this
"i find that i only get a reply on every 2nd or 3rd ticket i create and when you wait an hour in between sending them and have been waiting 3 hours" became an issue of response time being less than an hour, If i only get a response every 2 or 3 times, and wait an hour before sending it does not matter how long it takes to respond to the last one, its still hours of wait. On top of that if i can get a response after several tries, several hours later, need to resend and back it can very easily add up to days. I thought i was clear, make up your own mind.
I am feeling much less charitable after having dealings with support involving more technical stuff. I have noticesd basic tools such as a monitor for ram and cpu usage are missing, and their site seems to have trouble with multi IP logins. such as logging in from multiple locations its a decent layout otherwise but lacking plenty of features you can find from other hosts.
My opinion has only gotten worse over time and that is that this is a company that is too small to be competitive, their hardware and software are lacking and their staff has too little experience between them and/or are too busy to adequately address problems without requiring repeated questioning, and sometimes a change of shift. I would say avoid them, they fall far short of what is advertised.
Great customer service! In the beginning, I had issues with transferring the world from my old host along with a few others issues. So I opened a ticket and true to what I have read, they replied within half an hour. I then continuously asked questions to try and set it up with the representative and everything turned out great, I got the map all set up with little to no difference from the other host. As for their plans, they seem very affordable and generous with memory. I would definitely recommend them to others to use.
Good morning. At one point I started looking over some normal threads about getting servers started and someone mentioned Bisect hosting. So far it looks very impressive and I'm going to try it out for a few months. Only one question. With name changes, how will that work before making the server order? I haven't changed my in game name yet but want to know if this will affect anything.

Changing your Minecraft username will have no effect on your server
I own the Minecraft server titles ParadisePvP or mc.ParadisePvP.net.
Before renting a server off of BisectHosting I had a deal of server experience before hand. I knew all of the basics well, just about everything you needed to know about setting up a well rounded server. ParadisePvP is a Factions server running 3gb/Premium Package. So far I have around 50 plugins with a few players on. The server is based in Texas even though I live on the East coast, even being it hosted in Texas I get no lag and ALL of my players get no lag no matter there location in the US. I experience lag ONE time in the server so I emailed support and I got a reply within 5 minutes with a detailed response on a test I should send them so they can gather information to keep lag down, since then I've been running 19.8x - 20 tps steadily. I almost forgot to mention DDOSing from little 12 year olds. Within my first two weeks I was DDOSd by some kid. Before I could even tell it was DDOSd I got an Email saying I am being DDOSd for 28 hours with 128gb of power. They then proceeded with asking if I wanted to move to a protected node and I said yes. Since then no one has been able to DDOS me and my server is running fine. Overall I am very satisfied and will be upgrading my packages with BisectHosting. It is a very good company I rate 10/10.
tl;dr?
Support: 10/10
Lag: None
Price: Cheap
DDOS: They handle the attack very well
My server if you'd like to test: mc.ParadisePvP.net
I have been using bisect hosting after about a year of using 3 different hosts and today I have to say the best decision I made was switching to a reliable and and hardworking host.
Mixed reviews with this hosting service, their support is very quick, however not overly helpful. Had server with 2.5GB ram, with max of 3 people at a time, running unmodded 1.7.10 vanilla server. Everything was fantastic during the day, we could play no issues.
Every evening we experienced unbearable lag, in the end support had me run 2 tests, which in the end they kept blameing my ISP for the issues. However it happens every night, asked them to check the server to see if another minecraft instance might be causing the problem.
Their bandwidth seems to be somewhat of a possible issue, as i was able to download at a speed of 1.5Mb/sec during the day when we had no lag, but in the evening when i would try to download it would get 50Kb/Sec (30 times slower) I mentioned this to them but to no avail.
In the end they were not going to look into the problem any further, and just simply offered my money back. (Kudos on that)

In short, support was quick, but unable to resolve, or investigate and just past the buck off to my ISP. (Bell Fiberop, 150Mb Down/30Mb up, got said speeds using speed test during lag issues)
BisectHosting is freaking awesome! I have received nothing but niceness and helpful information from the Server Support team! They are ALWAYS there for me when I need them to be. And not to mention the connection and service I get while running my server! I never lag (Except for when I am doing A LOT of world editing, then you get a really EXTREMELY small lag spike). The payments I make to keep my server are very low (even with the Premium Package) and unlike most other Server Supporters, BisectHosting actually allows you to create your OWN Package! They allow you to choose what you do and don't want for your server and the price you pay for your customized Package is actually chosen from what you picked to be in your Package! BisectHosting is very cheap and reliable for anyone who is wanting to start a professional server with out the hassle of port forwarding and paying WAY over than what you SHOULD be paying for a server. BisectHosting is by FAR the BEST server supporter I have EVER come across in my days of playing Minecraft! If you are planning to start a server but you don't want to pay a lot for one, then definitely try BisectHosting, you WON'T regret it!

This one sounds fishy, and the attachment upload isn't helping me think that it is someone from or paid by BH for this. While I think the server hosting is good, this comes off as very fishy to me.

We definitely did not pay for this, or any other reviews. Not only that would be extremely unprofessional and unfair to do to say the least, it's also completely against this forum's rules and it would make very bad decision on our end to compromise out thread here and get kicked off from this forum.

Even if this was true, about it being paid. It wouldn't be a lie. I've recently switched to BisectHosting and instantly Daniel, a staff member, was eager to help me with my questions before purchasing. The servers run great and the support is incredible. Besides all this, Daniel is the best Support Rep.
I have been using this host for 2 weeks now. We run a 50+ player server and I am running their 10 gig of ram server. I love them <3! They are a awesome host, great support and very affordable!

I was wondering, could I pay with a prepaid credit card, such as one that you would buy from a convenience store? And if so, after that runs out, would my server just be shut down until I could get another one?

Yes, you can use those cards! Your server will be up and active as long as you keep renewing it, with the same, or different card.

Until someone ports this legendary mod I am leaving the minecraft scene. http://www.cosc.canterbury.ac.nz/greg.ewing/minecraft/mods/ArchitectureCraft/#mozTocId598776 I have watched too many legendary mods die and carpenters blocks sudden fallout out of mainstream made me cry. I realize the source is messy but some of the best mods from 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 were.
