Feed the real BEAST Block: Endgame Resource Sink and Crafting System as Extension for Extreme Modpacks like All the Mods, Project Architect 2 and so far...
Concept Overview:
In many large modpacks like "All The Mods," players often find themselves reaching the endgame, where the journey toward obtaining powerful creative items is lengthy and challenging. However, once these items are acquired, the game essentially ends, and the massive automated factories that players have built no longer serve a purpose.
The "Feed the Beast" block is designed to change this dynamic. It introduces a new form of endgame progression—a massive, resource-hungry multiblock structure that demands a continuous supply of materials. Only by meeting these demands can players unlock and craft the ultimate items, giving real purpose to the large-scale resource generation and automation systems they have developed.
Multiblock Structure:
The "Feed the Beast" block is a formidable multiblock structure, built from a combination of high-end materials that represent the pinnacle of the player's technological and magical achievements. Imagine a towering structure, humming with energy, its surfaces glowing with intricate runes and patterns, signaling the immense power it contains.
Core Block: The central piece of the multiblock structure, the "Feed the Beast" core, acts as the heart of the system. This block is where players will interact, monitoring resource intake and progress.
Input Ports: Surrounding the core are multiple input ports, each designed to accept specific types of resources. The design could involve intricate pipe systems, conveyors, or magical conduits, all feeding the structure with the required materials.
Tiered Resource Demands:
The progression system revolves around maintaining a continuous flow of resources into the "Feed the Beast" block. The structure is divided into 10 tiers, with each tier representing a significant leap in difficulty and resource requirements.
Tier 1:
Requirement: 1,000 Redstone per second.
Visual: The block pulses softly, signaling the start of something powerful yet manageable.
Tier 2:
Requirement: 5,000 Redstone and 2,500 Glowstone Dust per second.
Visual: The glow intensifies, and a low hum fills the air, indicating the increased demand.
Higher Tiers:
Requirement: Each subsequent tier requires exponentially more resources and more complex combinations of materials, including rare ores, crafted items, and exotic resources from other dimensions or mods.
Visual: The structure becomes increasingly animated, with energy surges, light shows, and deep, resonant sounds indicating the immense power being harnessed.
Maintaining the Flow:
To progress through the tiers, players must maintain the resource flow for a set period (e.g., 30 minutes per tier). The challenge is not just to meet the initial demand but to sustain it continuously. Failure to do so could result in a downgrade or loss of progress.
Example: At Tier 3, the requirement might be 10,000 Iron Ingots, 5,000 Gold Ingots, and 2,000 Nether Stars per second. The sheer scale of this demand will push players to maximize their resource generation, forcing them to build massive, efficient, and creative solutions.
Unique Crafting Interface:
The "Feed the Beast" block unlocks a special crafting interface once a tier is maintained for the required time. This interface is unlike any other in the game—it only becomes active during this period and allows players to craft the most powerful and exclusive items in the game.
Crafting Field: Once the player successfully maintains a tier for 30 minutes, a crafting field within the block’s GUI activates. Here, the player can craft endgame items—whether it’s a Creative Energy Cell, an item that defies normal game mechanics, or something entirely new and unique to this mod.
Crafting Restrictions: The crafting can only be done while the block is being fed the required resources, adding tension and excitement to the process.
Balancing and Endgame Purpose:
The "Feed the Beast" block is designed to extend the endgame by giving players a reason to push their automation and resource generation to the limits. It's a test of endurance, creativity, and efficiency, rewarding those who can rise to the challenge with items that are truly worthy of their efforts.
Resource Sink: This system ensures that even the most advanced setups are constantly tested, preventing the late-game stagnation that often occurs once players reach the "creative mode" stage.
Meaningful Rewards: The items crafted through this system are not just powerful—they are essential for players who want to push beyond the traditional limits of the game.
User Interface and Player Feedback:
The interface of the "Feed the Beast" block will be designed to provide clear and immediate feedback to the player.
Progress Indicators and Tier down: The GUI will show the current tier, the resources being consumed per second, and how close the player is to completing the tier. It might also include visual elements like bar graphs or dynamic counters that give real-time updates.
Alerts and Warnings: If resource input drops below the required level, the block could emit visual or auditory warnings, allowing players to react before they lose progress.
Tier Completion: Upon completing a tier, the block could trigger a satisfying, celebratory effect—perhaps a burst of energy, a unique sound, or a temporary boost in surrounding area—marking the achievement.
BTW, "Feed the Beast" is just a name I chose because of my old Minecraft days
We can change it anytime.
I would love to see someone take care of this idea, especially modpack creators.
I really miss a Endgame Feeling and i think that mod can change it in combination with big packs.
A nice extension would be, that this block requires more energy with every tier... and i mean a heckload of enery, so i have to build a nice mekanism reactor or something to maintain the tiers.
It can have a magical backstory or can act as a simple spacelift, to bring ressources to the home-planet or something.
the Core idea is to constantly burn specified ressources per second to keep it running and keep up the ressourceflow of the big factorys and automations
