How about new buildings and structures to explore based off of abandoned locations, and scrapped plans. For example, Camp Century, Greenbrier Bunker, Burlington Bunker, etc. Sorry I don't have more examples at the moment, but additions needn't be limited to military applications, and could include proposed plans that never began construction.
