My child is a minecraft gamer on Nintendo switch. I don’t play personally so i have no idea what he needs. Hes got the gobs of mobs add on downloaded. He now wants to play it on creative mode. When i click create map it only lets me do so with survival mode on. I cant seem to change it to creative which is what he would prefer. How do i help him do this? It is possible?

It might be a restriction from the Add-on disabling the use of it in Creative mode. I've never used Add-ons or Mods for Console/Bedrock editions and didn't think those were really possible, so I can't say for sure. Seems obvious to me, but maybe go back and read the description of it and see what it says.
Hope this helped.

I did a quick search for the Add-on and came across Gobs of Mobs from Logdotzip? Image below shows a small description of it that only says "Enhance your Survival world...", so it's likely that it can only work in a Survival world.
It does say “some settings can’t be changed” but my child insists it can be played on creative. He’s 7 though so I’m unsure if he’s just hopeful or if it’s possible and I just don’t know what button to use to change it 🤣 I don’t play the switch at all so I’m not even familiar with the buttons and he’s not much help

Gotta love kids. For all we know, he could be right and we literally don't know anything haha.
It might be possible to leave a review or contact the Creator of the Add-on, and you could suggest adding the ability to use in Creative. I know in Bedrock versions, going into Creative mode disables the ability to obtain Achievements from the console, but not the in-game ones. This might be something that holds it back from being used there.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me three times, hold up, rewind, That's not even possible.

Using the ignore feature here is kinda weird.
