I have brought it upon my self to ask if we could add fuse to Minecraft. This would act like red stone but it would burn up once lit. It would be easy to make traps, mine ore, and prank players and get away with it from a distance and not leave a trace. This would consist of 6 string and 3 gunpowder. You would place the gunpowder in a straight line in the middle of the crafting table then on the left and right place the string
This would be a nice addition to the game because there would be know added resources for this item.
what it would look like is string but very dark gray.
it could be lit form the middle of the fuse or the end of the fuse just like red stone with red stone torches.
it should be water proof, and unlike red stone when lit it burns all of the connected fuse lines. This is my idea hope this is something others would like to see as well.
(I take everything in Suggestions as an excuse to think about game design/game mechanics, so while I'm going to talk about problems I have with your idea, it's not because I don't want to see some version in the game--I just like talking about game design. Also, you might enjoy trying out Supplementaries Mod's placeable gunpowder!)
To start with the things I like, fuses are obviously very thematic and flavorful! It's also very simple--if you don't want to worry about signal strength and redstone repeaters, and you don't care about something being reset, just use fuses! I also think that Minecraft has added a few redstone mechanics that involve candles + water/fire effects (flint + steel, wind charges, splash water bottles) recently, and so fuses could, potentially, be part of some new "firestone"
When thinking about adding something new in game design, I think one important question is "what does this enable that doesn't already exist?" It's not always the case, but in many cases when Mojang adds a new "mechanical" block, they make it have a few different possible uses, and do something that was previously difficult or impossible. For instance, the Target block can detect arrows, which wooden buttons can also do. So to make it more distinct, they made it so it can tell you how close to a bullseye the arrow landed and also redirects redstone dust.
So in this case, this serves a very similar purpose to redstone dust, like you note. It's single-use, camouflaged, waterproof, and doesn't require repeaters, like you mentioned, but... is that really enough to differentiate it? There's a number of ways to make clever single-use contraptions, and invisible/near-invisible wires (skulk sensors, string/tripwires, pistons, leafstone, etc), waterproof wires (piston lines, observer chains), and indefinitely-long wires already exist. For lighting TNT from a distance, it's common to use a fire arrow. It's not super clear why a player would choose to use fuse instead of those options.

I think it's for regular use mining and traps without requiring setup. Just use as you go, make TNT more of a commodity than an expensive construction tool.
I like the idea, but do not like the fact of it being waterproof
Maybe there could be a waterproof version that uses slime balls in the recipe? Minecraft often doesn't make much sense with it's design in items, so this seems possible if implemented.
I don't use TNT in any capacity, but if I did, I'd probably utilize a Bow with the Flame enchantment at a distance to light it. Not always feasible sure, but It's just what I'd do.

Using the ignore feature here is kinda weird.
