There's a lot to consider when diving into this topic. Several factors could be at play here.
Examples:
1) What specs does the PC have that is running the modpack?
2) How many mods is your modpack running?
3) Out of all the mods you have, which ones focus on big tasks? (generating big structures, complicated instructions, etc.)
Generally, the less mods the better... Also newer versions of Minecraft have pretty good performance gains. Fabric is usually faster than Forge, up to you.
Also if you can provide a full mod list, that can help users like me a ton. Hope this reply helps!
