I dug a deep tunnel way underground. My goal was to hit bedrock and build a living arrangement there, but I ran into magma area instead.
I built a glass foot bridge across the lava and then I started building a living arrangement.
But when I turned around back towards the lava, my foot bridge was completely GONE!
So, I built another foot bridge only to find that the ledge that was the edge of the lava is COMPLETELY GONE and the entire underground lava area is COMPLETELY enclosed! My tunnel is gone and everything. I am in an underground magma prison now!
How did the area regenerate when I was working on the living arrangement and how do I get myself out of it!
I'm not sure why it regenerated and that's certainly something to look into, but if you're wanting to simply get out for now, since you're in creative, why not just dig straight upwards until you reach the surface, or teleport yourself there? An altitude of above 256 should be a guaranteed safe spot where no terrain generates, but sea level is 63 and starts becoming less common the higher you go; 120 to 150 is usually safe unless you're under a mountain. If worst comes to worst and you teleport into terrain, just again dig up. You won't suffocate in creative. I've teleported into terrain before and digging up gets me out.

Try using the cheat command /gamemode creative to go into creative mode. If you didn't allow cheats when you created the world, than try digging out and placing blocks below you. If that doesn't work, than I can't help you. Just start a new world.
P.S. Where you in Bedrock edition? If you were than that explains it. Bedrock Edition is buggy and Thinknoodles himself experienced it! He put a chest down in the desert biome and about four seconds later, about six blocks of the ground disappeared below him and a bunch of other blocks around him. Watch that video.
Princess_Garnet,
It says you have made 2,669 posts, yet your title is Newly Spawned! You can change it you know. You earn more depending on how many posts you did.
Thank you for letting me know, but I am aware because I intentionally set it to that. I chose it because it represents me well, I think!

And this was in creative mode? Do you have cheats on? Set your gamemode to spectator and fly back out to the surface!
Sometimes the game can do really weird bugs and rewrite entire chunks by 'forgetting'. It's rare but I've seen it happen.

I understand! Thanks! :-)
