In the past i had made a 1.20.4 server and it work perfectly fine and my other friends were able to join as i had port forwarded port 30000.But idk its the game or just me as i had just renewed my router and now I'm facing an issue where now I'm able to join my 1.20.6 server that I created using my public IP to join and the port 30000 that I've port forwarded but when my friends join they had the error message (no further information or getsockopt.)
Also im using the port 30000 but its the same as 25565 i've just changed the port on my server if you've not changed your port it should be on 30000 by default.
Here are two images ,one is mine which is working perfectly find and the other is my friend's who's having the message .

I use LAN so I have him change the port to 1234 so it's easier for me (my w key got broken not too long ago)
None of the solutions so far worked for me but I managed to fix it. It was indeed a firewall problem. Disabling windows firewall for for Java JDK was not enough, neither was disabling firewall altogether. I had to add a rule for incoming connections to windows defender. Very strange. I recommend this tutorial: https://www.howtogeek.com/394735/how-do-i-open-a-port-on-windows-firewall/
By the way, if you want to test if other people can connect:
I can join to every server except the server of my friend. I tried all those methods, but it didn't work. Anybody got some other methods that could work?
Edit: I installed ProtonVPN, but now I got the java.net.SocketException: Connection Refused - error
Edit [2]: Ask your friend / the serverowner to restart the server. I didn't know that my friend was on vacation, so the server got shut down. After my friend got back, he started / restarted the server and now it works again.
this is rlly wierd. I had this problem yesterday and tried again today. it worked for about 10 mins but I disconnected and then got the getsockopt issue again. i have tried everything on here but nothing works. If anyone finds out anything more please say!!!
the solution was found a few days later. THE PROBLEM occurs on versions after 1.20.4 .... the problem is in the plugins. disable everything and add it one at a time until you find the problematic one. It turned out to be a trading plugin for us
I'm having the same problem with my younger brother right now.
Thank you so much Amirv!! You saved my brother and I's world!!
what do you mean when you say "did it on both computers" ? sorry if that's a dumb question i'm kind of new to this kind of stuff
I was able to resolve this issue for LAN by doing the following:
1. Uninstall Java on all devices
2. Reset my firewall rules to default on all devices. We use bitdefender and this us under firewall settings
3. Reinstall Java from the online install page
4. Get the host IP address from your router management page or app
5. Direct connect to the host using the IP and the port number given when opening to LAN.
hope this helps someone! This bug sucks

By the way, if you want to test if other people can connect:
1) Run the server
2) Use this website to check if the port is open https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/. If it says your port is open, then your friends are probably
able to connect. Remember that the default port for minecraft is 25565.

Thanks.

Hi, Also try checkbox on OpenJDK if you cant find javaw.exe
only the private one is relavent.
Worked for me
I followed this tutorial and it worked
I tried this, but it still did not work.
the server is being run on Linux. no windows defender
1.20.4 work's fine. 1.20.6 is bugged.
