What would be the point in disabling wardens? If you accidentally summon one you just immediately run for the exit. By the time it can start detecting it's surroundings you're likely already gone. This tactic hasn't failed me yet.
What are the ranges for it to despawn? I never memorize this stuff to be honest.
It seems to me that Mojang added warden, only in order to diversify the content (cave adventures). Although the loot in his dungeon wants the best. After all, for every wrong action you are simply killed through the wall =)
Wardens are frustrating and disrupt gameplay, making it difficult to mine for diamonds due to their presence in deep dark biomes. This forces players to avoid certain areas or rely on strip mining, which isn't fun.

But the way I look at it is who cares? they're a minority of the Overworld, it's easy to avoid them and no one is forced to deal with the Warden. It's one of the least intrusive updates Mojang have implemented, 1.19 gets a positive rating for me for this.
They add a challenge where it is solely a player's fault if they end up dying because of the Warden, people are given a fair warning with the Skulk Shriekers, don't trigger them or wait out the timer on the first or second warning and you're okay with it. Mojang could've been sadistic in the warning system and given you just 2, making it borderline unfair and too easy to trigger them with a slight misstep, but they didn't, which is saying a lot considering how grindy they have been making the game with the recent updates, but I won't ignore the good things they've done for people. We did get quite a lot of interesting things with the 1.19 update, like the Allays, the Mangrove Trees, Mud and Packed Mud/Bricks, Frogs and Froglights.

I don't remember hoes ever being used - maybe they deactivate shriekers or let you destroy them quietly? Not sure, but I never tried.
You need to crouch nonstop, even to jump up or go down - may want to swap the option between having your crouch button be a press-and-hold and be a toggle.
Chests make noise when opened which is a big issue, not sure how to work around that as placing hoppers also makes a bit of noise. Maybe remove all the shriekers nearby first. The secret basement also needs noise to get open for some lock configurations.

Wardens are fun because they have a different gameplay rather than just attacking.
Wardens are good addition to minecraft because wardens are an original design that makes minecraft stands out as a game.

Just put hoppers below the chests and dive down to hide out of reach with physical obstructions in the way.
