So, I recently got back into redstone again and I decided to try and make a 1x1 flush piston door, but I have a problem: it won't open properly. What happens is when I flip the switch to open it the two sticky pistons that are supposed to flush the blocks for the door and the other two sticky pistons will not grab them and bring them in. It will close properly, but will not close properly. I have trying to figure out what is wrong, but nothing seems to work. Can someone please help me. I have attached some photos of it being closed, set to open, and the redstone circuit I use. Any advice and tips would be nice. Thank you.
The pistons will ignore powered/operating pistons. Your circuit needs to retract the blue wool and then keep the other pistons powered for about two ticks so that the first ones are done moving (and then a block update happens) before you can grab them.

I should note that I am using Java Edition 1.19.2
