Heya all, I'll cut out most of the intros, and idle chit chat...
just get down to the issue at hand.
Been almost a year since I've played, & am currently running the latest 1.2.5 version.
Back when I played, versions 1.2.1 - 1.2.3,
I enjoyed the world map seed named, " Mars "
Since I've started playing on the updated version,
when I play on the seed "Mars"
It doesn't seem exactly the same as I remember it..?
Maybe I'm just gettin "older"...
maybe I just fergot, after not playing for almost a year.
Question: Are the world map seeds valid across all versions of Minecraft?
I.E., Will the seed "Mars" look exactly the same in versions 1.2.3, 1.2.4, & 1.2.5 ?
Does anybody know, is there a way to find out, can we post a master type listing of all compatible versions?
I.E., What versions of the game will the seed generator output the exact same world map?
There should be sticky topics, or even whole SubForums!, created for these groups of MC versions, with compatible seed generators.
Would create an easily accessible central (single) place to go, for each group of MC versions with the same seeds.
Unfortunatly, you can't say "X seed is now Y" with the changed seed generator from beta-through-1.7.3. The terrain generation utterly changed, with the addition of ravines, abandoned mineshafts, strongholds, villages, etc. - the old seed maps no longer are even capable of being generated, only available if you still have an old version and/or somebody saved the map and uploaded (the 404 Challenge, for instance, no longer exists except as Dropbox files).
It's, unfortunatly, unlikely that the 'mars' seed has been saved anywhere. However! All is not lost!
Here's how you might be able to salvage your old seed for new Minecraft:
1. Set up a seperate installation of Minecraft from your own. For instance, in the 'appdata/roaming' folder there's the traditional '.minecraft'? Well, create a new subdirectory called - say - 'marscraft' under 'appdata/roaming'.
2. In /appdata/roaming/marscraft, put a copy of the Minecraft launcher file (minecraft.exe). Don't run it yet!
3. Create a batch file in appdata/roaming/marscraft - call it 'StartMinecraft.bat'. You do this using Notepad; in StartMinecraft.bat, type:
set APPDATA=%cd%
Minecraft.exe
This tells the batch file to look in the current directory ('marscraft') for Minecraft.exe when run. Save the file, exit notepad.
4. Now double-click on StartMinecraft.bat in the appdata/roaming/marscraft folder. This runs the batch file, which will execte the Minecraft launcher in the marscraft folder. Do not run Minecraft in the normal way (i.e. double-clicking on Minecraft.exe) to do this, as it will launch your 'regular' minecraft.
5. Force an update and all that fun stuff to be sure you have a full and updated second installation of Minecraft, then quit Minecraft.
6. ...and now intall MCNostalgia in your second Minecraft.
7. Use MCNostalgia to backdate your second Minecraft to 1.7.3 (or before).
8. Run your second Minecraft (using StartMinecraft.bat!) and generate a world using "Mars" as the seed.
9. Transfer the saved-game folder to your 'standard' installation of Minecraft.
10. Run your normal Minecraft and open the Mars seed.
11. Everything old is new again!
EDIT: Now that I look at it, I'm not sure MCNostalgia can 'recognise' a second Minecraft. In that case use the second as a backup while you backdate the main, then 'swap it back', as it were, keeping the "Mars" saved folder.
What happened 1.2 seed to older version like 1.1 that seed is HOGLOG the corrupted seed but mojang removed it after I realised test in old versions to connect to me or the Minecraft game is gone forever that's he did he name was H A D E S I THINK HE IS STILL ALIVE GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND I HOPE YOU WILL NEVER LET US DOWN.

Not sure what you are saying but seeds only work on specific versions, including specific editions of the game (Java Edition, Bedrock Edition, Console Edition), as the seed you are referring to seems to have been for Bedrock Edition based on search results, and unlike Java it is not an easy matter of simply downgrading the version in the launcher (we should be lucky that this is even allowed on Java, most software provides no such easy means to downgrade to an older version).
Also, there is no such thing as a "corrupted" seed (with certain world generation bugs, yes, but nothing more) or ones with certain creepypasta characters, all those have only ever been hoaxes or mods (yet another reason why seeds may not work, a lot of people do this to scare children and intentionally omit the fact they were using a mod).

P.S. - I miss the Mars seed!

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
