i just want to play in bed and not deal with switches problems. should i pick it up or is it just a waste of money if i have the java, ps3 and switch edition?
I own the Java, Windows 10 (due to it being free at the time for owning Java before a certain point), 360/One and Vita (PS4 recently for PSVR support) and I find if you have experienced Java and 1 Bedrock/Console version you know what the rest a like. I don't own the Wii U Edition but here is what I can assume from watching videos and what I understand of the Wii U's features (and as someone that enjoys the gamepad features).
Wii U is an old version (Legacy Edition, those with 'Edition' in the title) of the game for one so it won't get new updates (Bedrock edition platforms, those that just are called 'Minecraft') only new consoles (PS4, Xbox One & Switch), Windows 10 and Mobile versions get new updates.
From this video it tells you the world size, touch screen particular uses .
This trailer (I assume by a fan) shows Off-TV Play, Splitscreen, Inventory/Map on the Gamepad similar to the New 3DS Edition displaying different things on each screen
From what I've seen this say enough but if you want to see others then I'd say look at other videos still before purchasing.
I have considered getting it for Wii U but as I have other versions (Legacy & Bedrock) or not that interested due to being a Java player and into mods I don't see a need.
I enjoy the Wii U but it's mostly good if you really just want the gamepad features or want a game you don't have on other platforms (which I did with Terraria, Shovel Knight, ZombiU and others), otherwise it's the same as every other Legacy version on the TV.
This comment was edited a lot in search of videos and speculation to then after finding out editing to suit what I'd found out, so if feels awkward that's why.
