I don't really understand how seeds work. I think there is currently a common misconception that two worlds with the same seed are exactly the same. I have seen posts like "well this seed gives you coal right to your left if you just dig one block. This is not the case. In fact, they are not close enough that I could tell one seed from another provided they both do the typical spawn on sand and have water nearby thing. My 404 world is nothing special, just on a beach, with some water and flat land around me.
Not true, I've tested it with friends. Different spawn points, same world.
Gathered large amounts of topside resources...punched gravel...was surprised. Then wandered aimlessly in the dark and lost all but one heart from fall damage :sad.gif: Five minutes later was killed by a spider
Yes, sound must be on. Who srsly plays without sound, anyway?
I'll be updating the OP with all of the videos!
New Rules
1. You must stay above ground during the first day. You can gather any resource you find top side, but venturing into any other caves (for iron mostly) is not allowed.
2. You must not break ground on the 404 gravel until dusk. You are intended to be finding shelter upon nightfall, digging the gravel, and discovering the cave.
Rules I need to iron out, and are not in effect as of now:
- You must fall into the cave. Not sure about this one. You might not be standing on gravel that falls when you open it up, but it would add another level of difficulty, requiring you to bring food to heal right away, and you would be thrown into the cave.
- You must venture further into the cave as time progresses. Maybe after the next day (no sunlight? just guess) you have to have reached a certain level that you are then not allowed to go above. The eventual cap on world height may be around 40 to prevent staying near sunlight or attempting to make a glass skylight. Although skylights arent a win button by any means, you typically would need to go very close to the surface to make it. Not sure about the gradual limitation on your depth.
That would be awesome! If it is lengthy, consider making your own thread, and I'll put a link to it in the OP!

I found A diamond....
(yes i spawned the tools i just wanted to look around)
I cannot support this post
Could you give us a screen of the hole?
I'll update the OP with one shortly. It will be a pic of the gravel, so you can discover the hole on your own, and hopefully fall into it :biggrin.gif:

New Minecraft protip: Never dig straight up!
Also I feel that skylights can be justified with the great risk of death involved.
Look for a giant patch of gravel. If you need help finding it, watch the beginning of a video posted in this thread.
dig into the gravel.

Try my Ironman Challenges: 404, Chuck Norris, Iron Man
404 is real and pretty cool so I don't see what it has to do with Herobrine which is the opposite.
Mind if I post some sort of diary once in a while?

My 404 - LP Will Be Up Tomorrow. :]
Nice music

Sig'd
It had to happen sooner or later:D
The 404 cave is real because people make it real. Believe it or not, the same thing applies to Herobrine and Thomas.
