Alright, so before you post anything or ask any questions, please read this! It's important!
1. This is a pre release, not a full release. It's still lacking a lot and I'm working to implement it over the next while.
2. This is an add-on for another mod called FVTM. I know nearly nothing about coding, so JSON addons and modelling were the way I ended up going. I'll add better instructions and links to everything you'll need to get started.
3. This addon/mod is intended to permit usage of IC or IE energy with better looking powerlines- it doesn't actually add wires. Wires are added by IndustrialWires, an IE addon. I've talked with Ferdinand about adding wires in FVTM, but there aren't any guarantees since he's busy and FVTM is a very large mod with a lot more important features.
4. I am in no way currently affiliated, nor is my pack, with the owner of Immersive Engineering or Industrial Wires, or the mods themselves. I did not create these mods. I did not work on these mods. I do not claim these mods as my work. This addon is intended only to work with these said mods, and all credit to their respective owners and developers for their hard work.
With that all out of the way, let's get into the pack itself:
How the blocks go together:
I feel like this section is really important due to the complicated nature of powerlines- it's not easy making a pack with the various equipment and hardware and having it work with something like IndustrialWires. Due to this, I ended up using multiblocks for a lot of what's in the pack to make things a bit easier on you, the builder:
Poles
Poles are based on various height multiblocks, in intervals of a couple blocks (actually based on 5' and 10' intervals, 10' being on super tall transmission poles). The blocks in these multiblocks can be broken independently of the multiblock, allowing you to trim the pole or exchange parts of the pole with equipment/hardware. Currently, the pole top insulators are the only blocks that would be exchanged- the top block is broken and the insulator is placed down.
Crossarms
Crossarms are generally placed to the right side of the pole on a temporary block, facing the "face" of the pole. See the diagram below in the spoiler if you're still not fully understanding. << This is changing to limit the number of blocks required for the different types of crossarms. Tangent (straight line) and light angle crossarms are placed on the face of the pole, and deadend crossarms are placed on the opposite side of the pole from the direction of the line (facing down the line, from the end), and on the right side. I'll release more info on this when it's released. The current version does still have the original right side placement.
Armless Brackets
Armless brackets are placed facing the side you'd like them, on that side. Twin conductor (wire) brackets are placed on the left side, facing said left side. This will place the bracket on the face of the pole. Now some transmission construction is similar in placement, but I'll add info once those brackets and insulators are in.
Equipment
Equipment is just placed on the face of the pole where you'd like it to be for the most part. There are some hanging pieces of equipment- namely cutout switches for deadend arms, underarm disconnect switches, and one style of recloser. More on all the previously named items to come when I release them.
What all will be included, and suggesting features:
I'm going to try and hit every aspect of the grid, but not everything will be possible to add. Currently I'm focusing on wood and steel poles, towers would come down the line a ways. Same with substation, any more than basic setups. I'll also try and get a variety of distribution construction types (different styled crossarms and insulators). Luckily, I can achieve this without adding hundreds upon hundreds of blocks to the inventory, since all pole sections, crossarm sections, etc aren't in the inventory, only the multiblocks they are a part of. I am gonna focus mostly on American construction at first, as well as Canadian (since they're similar). Australia and Japan are both possible candidates wayyyy down the road, since they're both similar to US/Canadian lines in some aspects.
If you have a portion of the US you'd like to see lines from, go ahead and post a request. Make sure you add some images and a description of what exactly you'd like to see, and a maps link to the area the company operates in. I'll take a look and see what I can add from the company in question.
Wires and IC2 Energy:
For anyone who has seen my past work, you might recognize that the latest pack's screenshots have wires. Wires are not included with this pack at this time, and there is no guarantee they will in the future. Currently this pack relies on another mod, IndustrialWires, to add wires and insulators (called relays in IW) to Minecraft. Normally these would not visually work with my powerline models, but through a resource pack they do.
Now I know this is inconvenient to install ImmersiveEngineering and IndustrialWires as prerequisites- BUT- IC2 powerlines. Working. Powerlines. With an existing energy mod. Now- working powerlines won't be as visually pleasing as just building super realistic lines, but they still will function, and I'll definitely try to make the connections look better.
As another note, Immersive Engineering support is planned as well, but individual players who install the mod will have to edit the config file to extend the limit on wire length. Not sure what the maximum is, but I've been informed it can be extended indefinitely (?).
Installation:
Install forge. Not gonna get into details on this one, there are many other tutorials on this.
Download the ZIP file for the powerline pack. It includes the resource pack and the actual addon/mod. Place the mod in the mods folder and the resource pack in the resourcepacks folder.
Download FVTM (latest version) and install into the mods folder.
Download the GEP (the base FVTM addon) and install into the mods folder. This prerequisite will be removed shortly, not sure why it's required.
If you do want to use these lines for actual energy transport, check out IndustrialCraft. I'm not well versed on IC2 currently, so you would need to talk to the owners of IndustrialWires or IC2 on any issues stemming from energy transport.
First, this mod has been changed. I haven't updated it yet but this will be the site of new add-ons for Monoblocks. (Still power lines) Second, the UK uses mostly underground distribution. Third, I am planning to add some signals and gantries. Railroad power lines will be added.
I quite like these things, I thought very little that in minecraft, will have a source of energy that will energize all? And I would love to see this mod, light poles, traffic lights. That's amazing, has several mods that tantam play it, but this will be perfect!

Bom, as vezes pensamos em coisas boas, mas também em coisas ruins, e você sabia que nem sempre a facilidade é um bom caminho? O importante é tentar e se esforçar.
The mod is great, my Minecraft not crashed, very good, the textures are great, look at the mess I made in a post.

Love the street light system, but question is, it is confusing with the way to place them. Wouldn't it be easier when placing them on the fence or anything to have it facing towards you instead of having them facing another direction?

I made it that way after making the traffic signals that way to make it uniform. I may change it in the future.
I decided to add some variation in colors for the street lights and traffic signals! Version 0.3 adds yellow traffic signals and black street lights. Get your copy now!
I also decided to post a hint about what comes next:
Version v0.3 is nearing completion. I've redone all the textures and I removed some traffic signals (2 of the 5 lamps). I should finish it tomorrow morning. I'm going to start implementing power lines soon as well. I'm planning to add lines from Pacificorp, APSCo, Ergon Energy, Western Power, ComEd, and many more companies.

Sounds cool can wait to see some screenshots
Number of models done so far: 4
Number of textures done so far: 3
Sorry for the wait but here's a screenshot! I got conductors, tangent poles, and corner poles working!!
v1.0 just got released! Transformers, risers, switches, all of it!!
Here's a new picture of the upcoming crossarm construction!! All models will be redone and retextured!!
You chose to do those countries, but how about Melbourne Australia, where I am from?
I am in your dreams, haunting you!
Can I have that 85%?

The capacitor, transformer, and fused cutout blocks are going to be removed until I complete the powerline side of this mod. Thanks for the support!
Version 0.2 is out! Pole mounted traffic signals are supported and ramp meters have been added!
