I've been getting this message a lot too. I happens mostly during auto-saves, so I've turned it off. Now I just manually save every 10 minutes or so so that the damage isn't too bad if it fails. Usually it fails at around the third save attempt. I play with my kids, and we find it works a little better if there is no activity going on. If everyone is in a closed room with no inventories open etc. That may just be coincidence, but I have found that if someone is crafting or in their inventory, or fighting mobs - or doing anything really, it almost certainly will fail the save. I saved yesterday while some villagers were nearby, opening doors etc. and it failed... I'm gonna try to be even stricter going forward; hopefully that will help.
Fact is, though, this game is horribly broken in this regard. I really hope this gets fixed, it is so much fun to play with the kids when it actually works....
This is a crash bug, sometimes if there's too much on your PS3 or sometimes even the world itself your PS3 has a hard time dealing with it so it does what playstatons do best, crash. Hope that helped you out a bit
I find it strange that more sophisticated games such as Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Ratchet & Clank, and Black Ops do not crash the PS3; so why Minecraft? Could it be the Boys in Scotland are over their heads? I think it is time that Microsoft and Sony step in and make the PS3 Minecraft playable.
All those "more sophisticated games" actually are static images, meaning that a wall in Uncharted Is just a static image with nothing behind it. But in minecraft every single block is it's own entity. Do the math on how many individual blocks are in one world and that's a lot of memory power to be needed.

I have to give credit where credit is due, the changelog may not have included anything about this error, but it does seem to have been improved (but not entirely fixed). When I host my server with the host account in the Overworld, it will still experience this error frequently. BUT, when I have my host account in the End (which normally reduces lag anyway, on mics and such - I call it Ender Hosting) it happens much less often. My 24/7 server has been on for two days straight with no crash! That NEVER would've been possible in previous updates, at least not since PS3 Edition got the update with horses, donkeys, etc. And that's on my actual, main City Server. In the past, even almost-blank adventure maps would crash, even if I did Ender Hosting.
It's probably still pretty bad for most people, since most people don't have a separate PS3 to use for Ender Hosting. (If you want one, I suggest looking for a partially-broken PS3 for cheap. For example, my host PS3 is unable to use HDMI, but otherwise works just fine). But like I said, I have to give credit where credit is due, this will be a huge improvement to my Server Experience. In the past, it really couldn't be truthfully called "24/7," since Minecraft crashed multiple times per day.
It only happens when you try to save from what I've noticed. Doesn't matter if its autosave or manual, I've had it occur both ways. Perhaps its something to do with frequently saving on a world, though thats just my guess for why it occurs. Has anyone ever had this happen prior to the update from last December, because after that update was when I first encountered it.
Mine was working just fine, I updated, and now it just sits at the beginning window where you click X to confirm the game has an autosave (duh), and it doesn't register me pressing the X button. Completely useless game now. Just for the record, I wiped my PS3 of any Minecraft information, restarted the console, started the game (had to install the update to proceed obvioulsy) now it's stuck at the accept the license terms at the beginning of the game and not registering my paddles even exist when I click X. Seriously? Can't even play the damn game now.
I don't know what it is but on all my old maps I never crash. But on my new maps where they have granite diorite and so forth. I may be wrong but I think its trying to keep everything loaded but the system wont keep up. If you look it all started on the tu25 update. Now if you think about it look at where the pc is at today and where it used to be. Back in the past you only needed like 1 ram to play now you need way more. And if the pc dose not keep up with Minecraft you crash, but the ps3 is not the pc so instead you get the Minecraft ps3 has failed to load and cannot continue as your crash. just my opinion

You might be mostly right, but consider that an XBox 360 has basically the same computing power as a PS3 (maybe even a little lower as evidenced by lower graphics between the XBox One compared to PS4 in some games), yet it doesn't experience this issue. That suggests that it was poor optimization for the PS3 on 4j's part. The XBox would've required less optimization to get Minecraft (and Minecraft updates) on it, since XBox and Windows are both made by Microsoft.
Also, for what it's worth (which is apparently nothing since 4j doesn't seem to have any intention of ever actually fixing this), this is actually happening more since yesterday's so-called "bug fix" update
My guess as to what causes the problem is both lack of ram and 4J not making the game optimized well enough for the PS3. The Cell processor that the PS3 uses is pretty out there as far as gaming systems goes. I think they've gotten themselves into more than they may be able to handle. I would like to be optimistic, but this problem has been around for over a year now. I'm done waiting and have moved on, save for occasionally checking to see what's new.
Both Xbox 360 and ps3 have 512MB of ram. ps3 has this set up with ram. (256MB XDR Main RAM @3.2GHz) (256MB GDDR3 VRAM @700MHz) Xbox 360 has this set up. (512MB GDDR3 VRAM + Main RAM @700MHz) The ram set up is different in both systems. but Minecraft has ben out longer on the Xbox 360 then the ps3. but they are at the same update. the ps3 to me play the game with les lag but loads longer. the Xbox 360 has more lag but loads faster. they had to rapidly update the ps3 to make it the same as the Xbox 360. but I never had a problem with the xbox360. this is the 2end major problem for me but they fixed the first one. now they need to fix this one. the first one deleted a lot off my old words after I saved and quit the game the world was gone the next time I loaded the game.
Ps3. Does your minecraft freeze when saving. Please comment and vote for the bug to be repaired using the link below. https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCCE-441
like when we're playing, about an hour or so into the game after a few saves, it crashes right on the very last save, (usually the 2nd-3rd or 4th save....)we tried manually saving the game, and a more frequent automatic save... It still crashed.... We thought maybe it was the system it's self; it wasn't.... It couldn't have been, it's basically a brand new system.. So I got curious and searched if anyone else was experiencing this, and sure enough, I got my answers.... And I've also noticed too, that this has only occurred after the latest update...

I am very tired of the constant failures to load. I don't have money right now to buy myself a ps4 right now. I finish school here in like a month or two and i'll get a job then. However I shouldn't have to upgrade my gamesystem just to play a good game of minecraft you know? If 4J has no intentions of fixing this then I think it actually them telling us that we are going to be left behind if we don't update our systems. I think 4J may actually be loosing interest in the ps3 and xbox360. All I am saying is no more games are being made for Ps3. Everything is Ps4. Therefore more people will be buying the ps4. So, maybe minecraft is ready to focus on the ps4 and xbox1 rather than the previous systems.

Just stop for a moment and think about your statement.
A game developer who blatantly ignores its customers because it thinks the platform is outdated but continues to sell the game for that platform.
How do you think that kind of mentality for a game developer would work on getting future customers to buy their product? If they actually gave up on current customers, how do you think future customers would feel about buying their software in the future?
This would be game suicide. Mojang and 4J Studios would be shooting themselves in the head if they actually thought this way.
4JSteve said in the Bug Report that they are working on it. He said that, Unfortunately this wasn't a simple issue to track due to the the reproduction steps."

I get that it's frustrating, as I would be frustrated also. But it isn't happening to everybody, it's affecting each user differently.
I've been playing for the past 4 -5 days Non-Stop and no issues. Who knows, maybe later when I'm playing on hour 2 and it happens. It's a random thing. And it's that reason why it's hard to duplicate for them.
It's happened to me a few time now over the past year and a half or so. And I reported it in the MCCEPS3 Bug Reporting Site @ https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCCE-441 and explained exactly what I was doing when it happened. Trying to help them as much as I can.
To say they're just giving up is ridiculous. The class action suit would be nuts!

They've been "working on it" for almost a year. They've fixed other problems. I can't imagine this issue is hard to duplicate for the developers of the game - I see it 3 times per day minimum!
Are you playing on near-empty maps? I host 24/7 servers, my "Main Server" and two "add-on" servers. The Main Server is a dense city full of builds and redstone, and it crashes every 3 hours. The "add-on" servers are nearly empty, and they crash once every day or two, sometimes twice per day.
I stopped using my OLD main server because it was crashing on every single save. Now my new main server crashes every 3 hours. It's better, sure, but it makes it just about impossible to host a 24/7 server. Which is literally the only reason I bought another copy of Minecraft. They got $20 from me because they gave me the (thus far, false) impression they would actually keep this game in a reasonably working state. They have spent time fixing other bugs which no one really cares about (based on the fact that MCCE-441 is the top of their Console Edition Bug Reports in popularity, while the bugs they fixed rarely made the top 5).
Yeah, 4j Steve said they're "working on it," he also said it should be fixed by TU32. It's like like that annoying guy said on the bug reporting website, what does "Working on it" mean? Are they trying to find a resolution? Have they found a possible resolution? Is it in testing? Or are they just saying that they're "working on it," when in reality it's very low priority?
Their excuses, vague progress updates, and apologies on their behalf from loyal players are sounding more and more hollow with each passing day.
Edit:
Also I just took a look at Minecraft PS3 Edition User Reviews and I didn't see a single mention of this issue.I know I never heard about it until I bought this game. Most people don't do extensive research into all potential bugs before buying a game; I think it's entirely feasible that 4j could be ignoring MCCE-441 in order to focus on developing the games more for current-gen. After all, if you're experiencing this issue, they've already made their money off of you.
LOL @ "Annoying guy"
Annoying is an understatement.
I guess I'm lucky. I don't run a server, I'll play and friends will join in randomly IF I'm online playing at the time. I don't have mine running 24/7
I do play it all day long when I'm home though. At least 8-9 hours a day and haven't had a bad run in with the bug. Like I mentioned. I've seen it a few times though over the past year and a half.
What I find annoying is how people will rant over this and say ridiculous things like "They don't care."
I run my own company, and If I thought that way about past customers and didn't support my work, I'd be out of business because of the bad press/word of mouth. If I can fix something for a past customer, I will do my best to fix it, even if it does take a year doing it.
Small bugs or big bugs. They're all important. Regardless if you think nobody else cares about the smaller bugs. You don't know what I do or don't like. There were a few smaller bugs they fixed that I actually found annoying. If they fix the small bugs sooner it's probably because it's an easy fix, why wouldn't they? They have a team of developers, I'm sure they have a group of them trying to put this particular bug to bed so they don't have to deal with people like that particular annoying guy.
Can you just for a moment, think what it must be like having to cut through all the fodder in that bug report page? Skipping through all the ranting and complaining trying to find actual bug related comments and more likely missing important info reported by users. Info that might actually have been useful in fixing the bug. But people like that annoying guy keep flooding up the thread with their temper tantrums.
We get it. It sucks having this thing crash, killing hours of play time. There's just no need for the ranting on a Bug Reporting system. Leave the ranting here, in the open forum, but just keep the ranting reasonable and sensible. I'm sure a good number of users subbed to this thread would appreciate it. I know I would.
Saying, "Aaarrrg! Darn thing crashed again when I was leaving the Neter! I just lost 4 hours of game play! Noooooo!" here isn't such a bad thing. Vent it out if it makes you feel better. But saying things like, "Mojang and 4JStudios just wanted t o take my money and now that they got it they don't care about us!" That there, is just ludicrous! And when I enter the Forum and see that there is a new comment in this thread, I hate entering just to see stuff like that. It's not constructive at all. Pointless.
And that's my 2 cents worth.
Happy Mining! (If you can heh heh )

Yeah, for whatever reason it's been happening a lot more since the release of 1.9. Went from "once every 1 or 2 days" to "once every 2 to 3 hours."
It will, I've never had this happen to me on PS4.
But I can't afford a second PS4 to host my server 24/7 lol so 4j needs to fix this.

They have a team of developers, I'm sure they have a group of them trying to put this particular bug to bed so they don't have to deal with people like that particular

annoyingguy. Can you just for a moment, think what it must be like having to cut through all the fodder in that bug report page? Skipping through all the ranting and complaining trying to find actual bug related comments and more likely missing important info reported by users. Info that might actually have been useful in fixing the bug. But people like that
annoyingguy keep flooding up the thread with their temper tantrums.
