So I'm on a 1.7.10 world, and I tame a dog. After a while, I make him sit and then I save and quit. The next day I log in and try to make my dog stand up
but he just sits there. I've tried dumping water on him, hitting him, and relogging. Still no effect. Help?
Perhaps, since you're Offline, the game cannot trace the dog's owner's ID to you, so you're being treated as though some random strangers was trying to make the REAL BlueStreak39's dog move, despite not being him.
Just a theory.

This would make sense. I went back to a world that was created in 1.6.3 that had a cat sitting next to my crop field. I right click the cat and it does nothing.

Well that sucks. It seemed to only happen to me in 1.7.10 though.

Also, oddly enough, when I hit him, he doesn't stand up, the same when I use water, that's not normal dog behaviour.

Yes this has happened to me in 1.12.2 but I had someone elses map downloaded. Still I cannot tame a wolf.
After practically 10 years it happened to me in my beta 1.7.3.
I changed nickname and when joined game wolfs didn't recognise me, so fix of this problem is using same nickname as you had when you tamed wolf.
