Lol. All you ancient 30-year-olds just go sit down before you break a hip or something.
Dude. I'm 45 and I've been playing video games since well before you were born, maybe since your parents were kids. Games are for everybody. So are Legos. Mmm, Legos...
I'm thinking this is just a post to yank peoples chains and get a reaction. I'm 65 and this game is more fun than almost every other game I've played. And trust me I've played numerous games on numerous consoles and PC, going back to Pong LOL

You get this in every game. I remember a WoW guild I was in, years ago, where our best priest was in her 70s. We had one kid who was 12, somewhere around the age of the OP of this thread, who had to go to bed on time on school nights, and couldn't sneak back online to continue with the raid, because our raid leader was his father!
I started with Rogue on a PDP-11, back when it was new, and I haven't stopped since. As I said before, I do wonder about people like the one who started this thread: do they just expect, at some age, that they're no longer going to want to have fun anymore? Or they expect to develop an obsession with golf? or shuffleboard? I'm pretty sure that (unless they do decide they're 18, no fun allowed anymore!) they're still going to be doing things they enjoy, including playing Minecraft, for many years to come. And if they don't, what a sad life they will have.
When Minecraft was out in InfDev and the early stages there weren't that many "Kids" playing MC - back then it was mostly those people you have just called "Old."
Minecraft allows anyone to express their imagination and share it with others. Minecraft is also used in Education - if you know what MinecraftEdu is.
Now, my main question is..
Have you googled Minecraft Buildings, and thought to yourself a bunch of children ages 4-15 are rebuilding scenes from movies, and giant clockwork towers? Or images that resemble a photo of a person?
Another question...
Are us old people, just creating servers of elaborate settings using Minecraft to the limits of imagination, so that these "children" can play on them? (I've seen quite a few 18+ "Mature" Servers...)

If I have helped you, Up-Rank(Thank) my answer so that others may know which is correct.

This comment made me think of one of my favorite tv commercials right now. A couple in their 30s comment their kids are finally asleep and share a look about what to do with their alone time. We then cut to the couple on the sofa eating breakfast cereal and playing Super Mario Bros on the original NES. Funny to me because I'm their age and that does sound like a pretty good night. lol
16 - 30 is not old. It may seem that way when your under 10. Minecraft is a game for all ages, and all skill levels. You can use Minecraft to teach math. You an even use it to teach how to program. How do you think command blocks are used in the game. If this were a 'kids game' you more than likely would not have played minecraft like you do on the servers you play on. Alot of coding went in to making mods. That is not done only done by kids but adults as well. There is a lot you can do with minecraft when you put your mind to it. Building with friends or alone, the game comes to life from what you build and what you make of it. This game never came out stating it was a kid game. However it will go down as one of the best games. Only 6 years old, Minecraft has a huge future ahead of it.

I own an Atari 2600. I wanted one, back in the day, and my parents wouldn't buy me one, so when I found one at a yard sale a few years back for like $5, I got it. Y'know, Tank Battle is actually fun even today! Nobody was ever going to be excited about the cinematic graphics (a handful of pixels) or orchestral sound (beeps), and novelty was only good for so much, so the gameplay had to be fun. They seem to have forgotten that nowadays. (Destiny comes to mind, and not in a good way) And yeah, I can definitely relate. I'm of an age where my idea of a good, relaxing evening is throwing one of the arcade collection discs on my 360, pulling out the arcade controller panel (the thing is bigger than my laptop!), and settling back for a good game of 1942 or Black Dragon.
By older people i mean 16-30. I mean come on this is a kids game.
I am currently 28. When I started playing Minecraft during Alpha most players where only a few (1-3) years younger then I was. Mostly due to it still being an unknown thing to most people, so for the most part the people that bought it where people with the resources to purchase it themselves without relying on their parents. I still play from time to time, though mostly on my server as I get bored of the game fairly quickly playing by myself.

A kid would use a really really bad screen recorder like Bandicam with a watermark, wouldn't edit their videos at all, and would have massive lag issues. Of course, they would not really know what they are doing...
Wut I think he means is in minigame servers. When you come across a highschool bailout where they spend 10-20 hours a day playing minecraft and you cant compete agaisnt that because you have school and social activities it gets annoying.
I am 40. So what? No law says I can't play a game I enjoy. Everyone on my server is 35 and older and we have a grand time. We all cooperate on community projects and often a lot of us get together and go exploring into new regions of our map together. We have a large community warehouse that everyone contributes too for new players and veteran players to use if need and noone gets greeedy and cleans it out of gold or iron or anything like that. Many times we go out as a group just to gather items for that warehouse.
Unlike most servers where kids only go out for themselves we "older" people work together and have an awesome map built up.

I am 66 and play Minecraft all the time. I only play survival mode. My game is a year old and consists of a huge interlinked powered rail system. The perimeter rail around my area takes 2 minecraft days to transit. My 26 yr old son and 8 yr grandaughter play on my map with me. What's the problem with old people?
63 here. Your turn will come to be 'old' and you'll be playing games and wondering why the younger generation find it so odd that 'old' people play game.
I wanted to know what my son was up to online, to be able to communicate with him better. (And I really enjoy watching those Minecraft videos with him. There's a boy and a girl playing together, mostly cooperatively. They use a lot of mods though.) So two weeks ago I sat down after he went to bed and started figuring it out.

Well I think old people playing MC is bad. I'm 65 and I believe anyone over 90 who is playing the game is a disgrace.
