I finally decided to get the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft. The first map I created decided to be an ocean biome filled with mountainous mushroom islands. No trees to be found anywhere. I can't even eat without trees. How am I supposed to survive? If anybody is wondering, the seed is "The seed to rule them all" without quotes.
It is possible if you think about it but it is also very hard.
All you can do is kill animals with no weapons and hope you don't get food poisoning and make a little shelter out of dirt. ( Dont do this)
You also have to hope there are a ton of animals around.

Make a new seed
wow. im not sure how that happened. youll either have to do like the above guy said and drop some in with creative. one really should do. or create a new seed.
Mineshafts.
look in the ocean
for a whole in the ground
leading to a cave system
so you don't have to mine and
hope the cave system is big enough
to the point where you find a mineshaft
and you can then mine the wood. My Logic make any sense?
If you've generated a bonus chest when you created the world, it is possible to survive easily, since a new chest will generate every time you save and exit the game... giving you an endless supply of a bit of wood if you want it. More legitimately, you can use the bonus chest to start mining and hope you can find a mindshaft quickly (which will give you a fair bit of wood to work with). Since animals don't generate in ocean biomes... For food, you can survive on zombie flesh (although you will have to go through frequent bouts of food poisoning or kill some spiders and use their string and a bit of wood from the bonus chest to make a fishing rod.
if you don't type anything into the seed generation area when creating a new world you are much more likely to get a balanced world with most if not all biomes. Seems villages, bonus chest or mineshaft would be your only source of wood.
Plan 1
Let a creeper blow up stones that you can make a shelter, or just use dirt instead before night. You can't make and that means no , and also means no . Just kill mobs with hands and get some to eat, because there's no to cook. You have to fight mobs at the night because you don't have to craft a .What a terrible life.
Plan 2
Keep travel around your world for some tree. Once you found one, be careful with it. Chop all and get from it. Be careful with , could destroy it and you won't receive any from it.
Plan 3
Go and find a mineshaft. You can go found caves that maybe lead to a shaft, or just make blow stones all the way down.
I wouldn't survive the boredom of that scenario...><
I prefer worlds with all types of trees or easy access to saplings so I can plant my own. I am a survival builder, not flat out survivor... As that is not what draws me to the game. Creativity does to some degree...:D
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I agree, start a new world, Its possible to survive with zero trees, but It takes so much out of the game, and if you just got the game then you dont want to be limited right away
If you can find some long grass get some seeds from them to grow wheat and make bread. I have a survival map with no trees an 99% water, there were 3 blocks of long grass on the whole map and I got 1 seed from them, turned it into a 64x64 wheat field. Also, turn those mooshrooms into cows.
Janx is correct, he at least needs some wood in order to make the hoe to plant the wheat to make the bread...

And that's all. For my idea.
Re Plan 2 - If one tree is found... the seed becomes pretty much a classic survival island seed. Survival islands start out a little tougher than the norm, but after a few nights replanting saplings, you're pretty much well on your way to just playing survival the same as in any other sort of world. There are many of these listed on the Seeds List. I, for one, enjoy playing them for that little bit of extra challenge in getting started out. Treeless seeds are also quite possible to play and progress, particularly if you started out generating a bonus chest, which does give you an ongoing small supply of wood. It's just that little bit tougher to get going without any saplings at all in the entire world.
you would figure they would tweak the world generation algorithm to make it so atleast one tree had to spawn per seed
At one time, I thought that would be nice... but it's not like anyone is going to get very far into developing the world before they realize it has 0 trees. If they don't want to play with that sort of extra challenge, they can just exit and create a different world without having invested much time in it at all. I think it would be cool if, occasionally, the bonus chests contained a sapling.
You can find a cave system erhm whats its called U know those place where you can find melon seeds? I cant remember D: MINESHAFT! yea if u find a mineshaft your good =3 and There's a tree somewhere just look hard ;3

Yes your logic does make sense but your signature is really annoying.

What? :3
I would question whether the seed he got truly has no trees. Has he explored the whole thing?
If yes, there's no trees, I would pop into creative and plant one tree, then get out.
Or do a new random seed.

Leave a diamond if you enjoyed my stuff.
Oh wait, this isn't Planet Minecraft...

I have generated a couple of seeds that had absolutely no trees in them... so, it does happen.
