The floor inside of the home is just a decoration. Sorry for any trouble and time loss it may have caused you.
And the levers, We signify Levers as "Keys" in the game. Although yes, It is very hard to close your door, We used them so that they will be keys not only for your house, But for (Maybe) the use of replacing quest keys that you had lost.

Military Site with the 9 keys
and was wondering what is with those delicious items when suddenly, when I was banging my head against how to start the "train", i was like "OH!"

One thing, the train line to Penacre... the first dip off towards Penacre... when returning... The minecart doesn't have enough "juice" to climb back up the dip. Gonna make a personal alteration on it for my own personal thing but wanna share it with you for your "update". Thanks again for the prompt reply earlier

If I remember correctly, We forgot to take that out. It will be fixed in the 1.1 update.
I can't find the military compound. they said it's over the dune but i checked and its not there.

It is over the dune. Just keep walking. It's a very small Island right off the shore. (Normal - Far Render distance helps.)
I played about half way through, but got thoroughly owned in Bloodshrine and lost too much gear to recover. It's a good map - I like how the locations were all quite close to each other and the way you encouraged the use of the villager trading system. One thing though - I was able to get into the secret room passed the silverfish infested basement early on because the silverfish infested the stone you had built the redstone on. Try to use a different block type to protect against that - and don't have the ladder out be put against stone, either.

2. Planned Showcase for our next map, That SHOULD be next Friday. (8/17/12)
3. The teaser trailer for the second map SHOULD be finished by the middle of September. But all of this depends on how fast we can build.
4. We need builders for the next map! If we want a showcase and a teaser by the previously stated dates, Then we will need builders!
That's all we have this time so far.

2. Planned Showcase for our next map, That SHOULD be next Friday. (8/17/12)
3. The teaser trailer for the second map SHOULD be finished by the middle of September. But all of this depends on how fast we can build.
4. We need builders for the next map! If we want a showcase and a teaser by the previously stated dates, Then we will need builders!

The idea of using a current stronghold as a random dungeon and making us figure out how to use one of the nine keys to open the door to it... F'ning brilliant!!
