Well, I looked all over the internet for a mod that gave players tentacles. And found NONE! Honestly I think having tentacles would be absolutely phenominal. AND NO ALL YOU PERVS OUT THERE! It's not for THAT!
So, the mod would probably be a bit like The Darkness. You know, the twin snakes in the upper corners of the screen? Except tentacles in all four corners.
So, you would switch from combat mode to practical mode by pressing V.
Combat:
I was thinking about how the left mouse could be programmed to choose a random tentacle and lash out with it, and then if you right click, the tentacles would kind of come together in front of you like a shield! In a sort of X-shape.
Practical:
So, they tentacles in practical mode could be used to interact with things from a distance, like chests and crafting tables for instance! They could also be used like Indiana Jones' whips, pulling things to you. But, they could also be used as tools, or even just to carry more tools. Each tentacle could have it's own inventory slot, for tools torches and other things. It could go great with Realistic Lighting, where in one tentacle you could hold a torch so your other hand would be free. And what if you put it in with Battlegear 2? You could have a pick, sword and tentacles to hold your stuff, or occasionally impale your enemies!
