After weeks of hard work I've finally got something a bit special to bring to you. What started out for me as a "casual venture" into skinning became a bit of a crusade of "no compromise" and lead to many weeks of hard work. Hopefully though, people out there might appriciate the results! =)
The new Ultimate Version can be completely custom Skinned and Coloured!

Hi, Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the latest features to be added to MineBack Ultimate.
So, the new 1.8.1 patch brings lots of new goddies and some new baddies (litteraly and figuritively). One ever so slightly unwelcome feature is the hunger bar, it has proved so tiresome to me (and my poor starved Minor whos not seen daylight in months) that I've added a new feature into MineBack Ultimate to allow registered users to reset their hunger levels ().
To quench your Miners appetite, simply right click on the world hes currently living in (whilst the world is not in play) and choose "Reset" -> "Hunger Level".
Additionally, MineBack Ultimate users also have access to a world level data (NBT) editor which might prove useful to advanced users (be carefull when editing your worlds properties. Please make a backup first).

So recently my brothers came home to vist and so we setup a server for us to collaborate and it gave me a great opportunity to test how MineBack Ultimate handles a server installation.
It just worked. Had to change the save location folder to where the server saves where stored, but it simply worked. Within an hour it had already proved its worth as bad explosives accident caused some quite unwanted damage. A quick stop of the server and a restore and we where back online in under 2 minuets (might have been faster if we had raced).
So another win for MineBack! :smile.gif:
I've going to try and add something a bit special to MineBack Ultimate for its next release. I'll keep you posted, for now I'm keeping it under my hat.
ED: I forgot to reveal whats under my hat.
I added a hunger level reset (infact I added a complete health levels reset and and a nice NBT editor).
To be honest, I completely forgot about this and haven't used it for a long time. But, now I am playing Hardcore mode, so I feel I should get a safe and easy way to backup my world. And well, this doesn't just do the job, it exceeds it! :smile.gif:
If I could, I would donate, because you completely deserve a reward! Thank you! :smile.gif:

*glee* thanks you so much!
Your praise is very rewarding indeed, thank you ^^.
I really appriciate your feedback :biggrin.gif:.
A recient joy I've found using it myself is when creating red-stone machinery / circuits (something I didn't think would need that so much). I built a 5 stage block pusher in our family multi-player world and sometime during the tweaking I was darned if I knew how it got wired up so wrong (turned it into a block squisher lol). A quick trip to the server and a 30 second restore and I don't have to worry about trying to work out where I'd managed to spam a red-stone wire.

Well, I've been struggling when it comes to thinking of ways of improving MineBack. I think I might add a differencial backup option, though its value isn't huge (though might be nice for anyone whos really tight on disk space).
Anyone have any feature requests? :smile.gif:

I think this weekend, MineBack Ultimate deserves another upgrade. Since the backup portion is smooth and simple I'll leave that be and focus on the extras. At the moment the "sonar" just gives a standard speaker "beep" when a backup is made (I think I'll add an option for a custom sound wave (to compliment the skinning feature). Will keep you posted :smile.gif:
ED: Devlivered. Registered Users can download an updated version (have your registration code handy). New Registered users will off course get the latest version.

I've had a couple of ideas for updates to MineBack Ultimate recently. First is to update the NBT editor to support the map files (giving control over the zooming ect) the second is to allow you to restore partial details from other backups, specifically the player position and/or inventory (since recently having fallen out of the nether quite a few times I would have liked a quick way back to somewhere familiar).
Anyone interested?
ED: Released an update to MineBack Ultimate and MineBack Pro.
i have an feature request.
It would be nice the option to rar or zip the backups with best compression. My world has now 19MB and zipped it is only 12MB. Would be a little storage saver =)
Because for now i use a self written simple backup skript with powershell which do nothing else than get this one world an zip it.
Best Regards,
RiaG
Alright RiaG, I think I could atrange that ^^. Though it would need to be done in Ultimate / Professional versions. The freeware version is effectively frozen now (though still a good little tool and compatible with the other MineBack versions).
MineBack Ultimate has evolved again. I wasn't expecting to add so many features, but as I added each little part it drew me to add the next.
The feature thats proved the most fun is the Mining feature (as in Landmine). I've exploded entire worlds and flown or sat and watched the outcome. I setup mine and my brothers Multi-Player map with an entire region mined and had my brother search for the touchplate trigger thats automatically planted.
The feature will mine the "designated" area (chunk or region block) and leave a single touch plate activator (randomly placed). Importantly, other than the single touch plate there will be NO evidence of the mines. The explosives will not be visible without digging.

Request granted.. though its only available in MineBack Professional and MineBack Ultimate (took a while).
The feature is turned off by default, but theres a simple check box on the settings page "Archive Backups". Once its toggled it gets saved with your other preferences.
Features are pile'ing up :smile.gif:

Update released, continuing to work on updating to fully support Anvil.
Update on progress: Made all the necessary minor adjustments to support the new Int Array tag and to load the map sections. During testing identified minor annoyance introduced in last update and resolved it.
Update on progress: Modifying map editor portion to work with individual sections (next stage will be to update bulk chunk updates to account for section layout).
Update on progress: Map Editor working with 1.2.3 format maps Testing for compatibility across versions (1.1 and 1.2 maps are being supported side by side).
My done list for then:
1) Addressed what happens when automated map editing features hit a map section which is not yet created (it automatically creates the new section).
2) Lots and lots of testing (done that. Made an odd Greek tree.. very strange).

Does a celebratory dance.
MineBack Ultimate / Professional (IMO the single best backup solutions available for MineCraft) has just had its innards completely wired for the new Anvil map format.
I've even tried to get a step ahead, and you can even create sections above the maximum map height (as of v1.2.3) though MineCraft will just remove them when you play the map. Its really only future proofing (MineBack will warn you if you edit outside the height scope).
MineBack Ultimate still supports v1.1 worlds side by side with v1.2+ (tested against v1.2.3).
Happy Mining (and if your running MineBack.. secure mining too).

Presently working on an update to the MineBack Ultimate map viewer. The new update alows you to view a cross section of the region at a particular height. Its excellent if your curious to find dungons, fortresses or just to see whats there.
Its working right now, but before I release the update I'll make as slick as possible. Right now I'm not happy with the rendering performance so I'm going to see what I can do to knock it up a notch (lol... that expression just got a whole new meaning).

I'd like to thank and credit Darth68 for his help uncovering a small (but enfurating for anyone coming across it) bug in the game client launcher for MineBack Ultimate. Thats muchly Darth68!
I'll get back to working on the map view improvements, its already looking nicer with water being rendered transparently giving improved depth to the map view... will keep you all posted.
I've just noted that the latest map view-point additions have affected the side-view in the map editor, the front view does not show correctly. I'll get a fix out tommorow (13th March).
Just made it! Its 11:02pm, and I've just released the update.
The new Ultimate Version can be completely custom Skinned and Coloured!
So head on over to : http://mineback.kvkconsultancy.com/ and check it out ^^
Thanks everyone for your interest and supportive comments :smile.gif:.

Before shot.. just a random piece of land.
After pressing that little pressure switch.
Huge hole! :wink.gif:

So, in order to a little rectify this I'm doing a series of articles on MineCraft and using MineBack Ultimate. You may wish to take a look.

Now, to set minds at ease, I will be updating the MineBack Ultimate map editor to support the new (pending) Anvil 1.2 format maps.
I am eagerly awaiting the snapshot update so I can get testing.
